WESTERN AUSTRALIA

We passed the boarder into Western Australia, not yesterday but the day before.  When we told Lulu and Mayarn they screamed. It was funny!

Today is our last day of driving before we get to Lulu and Mayarns.  I'm so so excited so is Lulu and Mayarn.

When we get to Lulu and Mayarn's house, I think they might scream! And we are probably not going to see George for a while because Lulu will have him!

DUNSBOROUGH, WA

We have now been at Lulu and Mayarn's house for a week.  When we got there we had a pretty funny welcoming. They have a dog named Roe-eye.  He is really cute.  He is really old he is 13.  The first place we went to was Yallingup Beach. We also went to Meelup Beach and Bunkers Bay.  My favourite beach was Yallingup because they had really big waves.  We went to two Yallingup Beaches the first beach was a lagoon.  So this means it is really safe there from sharks and stingrays.  You can see lots of whiting in the water because it is so clear.  The second Yallingup Beach we went to was my favourite one because the waves were even taller then Uncle Adrian who is 6 foot 8.

Mayarn and I did lots of gymnastics together.  She had a really good mat to play on.  We did a routine to Candy Man.  For my 10th birthday I would like to have a candy party.  Our last day today at Lulu's house Bella (Mayarn's grandmother) took us out for breakfast at the Bunkers Bay Beach Cafe and then a walk on the beach.  At the cafe I had crepes with berry and cream on top and a spearmint milkshake.  It was delicious!
We had heaps of fun!

AUGUSTA, WA

Today we drove about an hour and a half to Augusta.  We are staying in a caravan park on the water.  It is a really awesome one.  Lulu and Mayarn will come and visit us on Saturday and stay for a few days.   The playground here is really awesome because it is like an exercise playground.

YALLINGUP, WA

From Augusta we drove to Yallingup.  I went in Lulu and Mayarns car and Tim went in mum and dad's.  When we got to Yallingup we set up the van and went down to the park.  Then when we got back mum and Lulu went to get a port a cot and high chair for George. Dad, Mayarn, Tim and I went to the beach.  The beach was actually a lagoon.  The lagoon looked different every day. Some days it was green, some days it was blue and some days it was clear.  But all the times you can still see through to the bottom.  There were lots of surfers and big waves.  The other side of the lagoon had really big waves that came up to your ankles on shore.  From Yallingup we drove to Dunsborough to go to Xscape to the Cape - fun park.

The fun park had a wet part and a dry part.  The wet part of the fun park had a big bucket that tipped on you and you could lie down while it was tipping.  There were four different slides, they all got harder each time.  The easiest slide was blue, the second easiest was green, the second hardest was yellow and the hardest was red.  I liked the red the best because it was all dark with little flashes of red and the yellow was a little bit dark with red lights on it.  The green and blue had no roof.  the blue slide was really short and the green slide was a bit bigger.  We played mini-golf and went through the maze.  There were also really bouncy trampolines that we went on.  There was a tower that you could climb and it had black straps that you had to pull apart to get to the next level and there were probably 20 levels. I got up to the top! We got an ice cream at the end of the day!

PEMBERTON, WA

The caravan park in Pemberton was awesome because you were totally in the bush.  We were allowed to have camp fires so we made smoores in the campfire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We went on a 4 wheel drivings expedition!  We drove our own 4 wheel drive which is called a "tag-a-long".  Graeme drove the tour car and he said that there were no bumps at all in his car.  but there were heaps in ours! George didn't like the big bumps much.  When we were driving up the largest landlocked sand dunes in the southern hemisphere Dad went a bit too fast and we came up to a really big bump and it shook the whole car! It was so much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Graeme made lunch for the whole group.  It was amazing!

We climbed the Gloucesters Tree. The Gloucester Tree is a 53 meter high tree.  Tim and I were only allowed to climb up to the first branch which was really high.  Mum and Dad climbed up to the top.  I would have screamed at the top because I would be too scared to come down.  George held onto the first step.

DENMARK, WA

Denmark had an amazing swimming inlet.  We went swimming in it.  George didn't because it was a bit too cold for him.  It was cold and misty on the day we swam.

We went to the Valley of the Giants one day.  It was so cool because you got to climb up a walkway to the top of the trees which was 40 meters high.  Then we went on a little walk after that and saw a 400 year old tree called a Red Tingle.  They are huge thats why they are cool!

ALBANY, WA

In Albany we went to some blowholes.  Blowholes are really cool! They are big rocks with a hole underneath that the water comes and crashes underneath.  This makes a really big sound like a rumbling and then the water shoots out the top.  We had to do about a 900 meter hike down a hill to get to the big rock cliffs where the ocean water blew into them.

We spent the morning at the Whaling Station.  We went on a tour.  It was pretty disgusting what they did to the whales.  They would kill the whales and take the blubber out of them to make oil.  This oil was used for lipsticks and some kinds of makeup.  This whaling station is the only station that has survived completely in tact in the world.  We walked on one of the ships that they caught the whales on.  The bedrooms were tiny with even smaller beds, the beds were about as wide as me.

In Albany we rented bikes and rode them around town.  Here at the caravan park there was a walk down to the swimming hole where you could swim because there were no sharks in it.

ESPERANCE, WA

In Esperance it was mum's birthday.  We went out for dinner at a restaurant called The Pier.  I had salt and pepper calamari.  we ordered a birthday cake for mum it was chocolate mud cake and it had Happy 40th on it and a candle.

We drove 22 km alone the beach to Cape Le Grand and we liked the bush camp so much that we went back to Esperance packed up our van and drove back along the road.  I learnt how to surf at Cape Le Grand from Craig who we met at the park.  I caught a wave all by myself with no one holding onto the board.  The surf board that we surfed on was a competition board that the host of the park lent us.

FRASER RANGE STATION, WA

We are now heading east back to Bendigo.  We stayed at Fraser Range Station for a night.  We walked to the top of a hill, it wasn't too long.  At the top of the hill there was a really big view of the station and the park we stayed in.  The station is 440,000 acres and used to run over 4000 sheep.  We saw emus and kangaroos.  When we were driving out of Fraser Station one kangaroo hopped in front of us and two were hopping beside us for about 30 seconds and then they ran in front of us but we didn't hit them! Thank Goodness! They were going 30 km/hour! but that was only about walking speed to them!

EUCLA, WA

Now we are halfway across the Nullarbor in a place called Eucla.  Here we are just parked for the night on a cliff that over looks the beach and sand dunes! Tomorrow we will cross the Western Australia boarder into South Australia!
